The sun had not quite risen over the crest of the Smokey Mountains when my dog, Bentley, wanted to go out. He scraped the door of my rustic Gatlinburg, Tennessee cabin, making me drag myself out of bed. Mumbling complaints of it being too early, I stumbled to open the door.
Once the door was barely open enough for him to push through, Bentley shot out like lightning and jumped off the back deck and into the partially wooded side yard. There was no time to process what was happening when a HUGE eruption exploded.
A huge black bear had destroyed our trash can before dragging it into the woods and Bentley was facing off with him!
The bear was bigger than Bentley by at least a hundred and fifty pounds and neither were giving in. It was SCARY!
They were circling each other, nipping and ripping at each other and the bear was swiping his claws at Bentley. I had never seen my dog defend his position so sternly before. It was terrifying.
After five minutes which seemed like five hours, the bear finally took off running with my dog right on his tail. Into the woods the two went and this made my stomach sink even further down in my abdomen.
This was very bad.
As I made my way on to the edge of the woods, I could see Bentley’s black and white cow-like pattern through the thick of the trees. Relief washed over me that he was coming back to his castle which he defended so gallantly, but as he got closer it was obvious he was limping.
After checking him out myself and several trips to the vet, they told me that Bentley had more than likely torn his ACL, he would probably need surgery and a glucosamine supplement for the rest of his life. I scheduled an appointment with the surgical office but the next few weeks were really rough.
Bentley became a different dog.
• He no longer wanted to play.
• He limped when he walked.
• He seemed sad all the time.

We loved this supplement. My dog looked forward to seeing the container and getting his treats, he did literally almost anything for one! After 2 weeks we can already see improvement in his mobility. He’s a tripod, so it makes a big difference.
